A member entitled to attend and vote at the meeting is entitled to complete proxy forms. The proxy form needs to be deposited at the Secretariat not less than forty-eight hours before the time for holding the meeting and in default the instrument of proxy shall not be treated as valid.

Members with Chronic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, epilepsy, Hypertension, renal failure, cancer etc. do require to get repeat prescriptions. This they do by consulting a doctor each time they need refills, which sometimes attract; consultation fees.

Experience has shown that such members deplete their consultation benefit on refills before the end of financial year.

While they are at the doctors', members are encouraged to kindly ask for advance prescriptions for up to three months at no charge. They should make sure that such prescriptions do not replace the need for scheduled reviews and regular check-ups.

If the above ideal scenario is not possible, to reduce the aforementioned burden, members will, effective 1st August 2021 be allowed to obtain a repeat prescription without a live doctor's consultation and there will be no need to wait in a doctor's waiting room to see a doctor for a regular prescription. However, a 'prescription only' fee of K 1000.00 will be charged and claimed from MASM by service providers and not a consultation fee.

Service providers will use tariff code number 03007 when claiming/billing MASM.

All other rules and regulations remain the same.

We trust you will find this in order
